Any health professionals to answer my question?
I am working on a health project, specifically addressing the discriminatory practices on people by medical professionals. My teacher wants an “interview” with a medical professional.
Can anyone tell me about any common discriminatory practices you’ve seen/experienced, and how they affect the patient? (possibly short term and long term effects?)
If you could include your last name and “title” that would be great. (teacher needs it D:)
Thank you!

I work as an ER nurse and the biggest discrimination we see is against people with chronic pain issues. Although many of the patients we see for these issues are probably drug-seeking, those who are not and have a history of chronic pain (migraines, back injuries, etc.) have a hard time getting the medication they need and are labeled as drug-seekers. Sorry, but I don’t want to put my last name on here, but maybe you could interview somebody in your area on this topic.
