I was wondering if you could use a Windows password reset disk on multiple computers. If so, do they have to be on the same OS? I own several, and I don’t want to create one for every computer. This would help a lot. Thanks!

Naturally, I would think a Wi-fi card would be great because both computers are within about 25 feet of each other or less so reception shouldn’t be a problem. There are other options such as a connecting cable (ethernet) as well.
I know there is a lot of info on the web, but if anyone who has good experience with networking wouldn’t mind sharing with me what has worked best for them, that would be good.
Why is one of the computers connected to my wireless much slower then the other one?

We have 20Mb broadband, yet one of the computers connected to it can utilize just 1Mb of it, or a little more. Could this be an ip conflict? And yes its the same thing even while i’m not downloading obnoxious amounts of porn XD. We are both on Windows 7.

I have 6 computers, and I’m planning to network them If i connect them to a switch hub then to a router, do I have to configure something on each unit, in order for them to be connected to play LAN games like DOTA and counter- strike? or after I connect them to the switch hub then reformat them all, they will be connected automatically in LAN games?

I am using Netbeans and I want to create a simple application which allows multiple computers, when connected to the same network using LAN, to be able to send text messages, ie chat. I am an intermediate in Java. Any ideas on how to do this and what I should learn to in order to create this application? Thanks!
