Can you run for politics with a economic and business major?

I am thinking about running for politics in the future maybe as a state senator or mayor then climb up the pyramid to as high as I could. Do I have to change my degree I am obsessed with the economy and businesses.
Is there any meaning of politics when you know by the end of the day nothing can be accomplished?

I can certainly get why people like voicing their opinions, it’s a way for them to get something out of their chest. The people that relentlessly fight for a belief become too emotional and lose sight that in the big picture nothing that they do matters. The only time when political activism gets something done is when there is a whole group of angry people. Other than that, at the individual level, arguing about politics does not (most of the time) convince someone to change their beliefs and certainly does not change the way politics works.

Should businesses be involved in politics or not?

I know that many decisions in politics have consequences in business, but that’s the only thing I can think of? I don’t see why they shouldn’t be involved since they [kinda] have a major role in society? What do you guys think?

Why are people so confused with Liberal Economics and Liberal Politics?

Liberal economics believes in the Free Market and Capitalistic system where the Market reins supreme with little Government regulation, whereas Liberal Politics believes in a equal rights in the form of redistribution from the rich to the poor, welfare for those that can’t support themselves, etc.
There are books written on this, but I find it odd that most people on YA in the Politics Category can’t seem to separate the two issues.
Is possible to study politics at university and become a politician?

I’m about to attend politics studies at university and I want to know if it would be possible for me that after done studying politics I can be a politician,not political scientist or analyst.just a pure politician
