I found out that the food I have been feeding my service dog has euthinized pets in it! I feed her purina dog chow and the ‘real meat’ that purina puts in their food is really euthinized pets from animal shelters. Are there some cheap dog foods that do NOT have euthinized pets in it?

I would like to own a dog (a beagle if you need to know), but I need to show my responsibility to do that. I was hoping I could take care of 2-3 pets to show that I’m responsible enough to own one. I was thinking a lizard and a hamster or something like that.

in order to keep a skunk as a pet, youll have to have its scent glands removed and even though you do this it may still give off a slight odor.if it were up to me i wouldnt have one as a pet,but then thats my opinion.

I had some once in a terrarium with live plants. They are very active when you drop crickets in there, but normally they hide, although mine did alot of basking after they got used to things. I thought it would be cool to feed them crickets with my hands. They ate out of my hands no problem, but then any time I tried to stick my hands in their to clean or something, they would run up and try to bite my fingers because they thought I was feeding them. Juvenile five lines have a bright blue tail. Their color changes as they mature, maiking it easy to tell male from female. Handling them is not a good idea, unless you can get them real tame. Their tails fall off easily, and the bigger males have a pretty strong bite. But they’re very hardy and live well in captivity, just feed them alot! Just set up a good sized enclosure with lots of plants and branches, a basking spot and UV lights. I never saw them drink from a water dish. They always drank droplets from the leaves when I sprayed them.

I absolutly LOVE my five lined skinks. Those skinks are very scared at first, but once they find out you are the one that feeds them, they are more than happy to come out and sit and wait for you to feed them. They also will run from one side of the tank to the other, and if there is a way to get to the top of the tank, they will hang upside down on the tank lid. Don’t be scared if you don’t see them in the tank, those little guys burrow themselves when they sleep. Overall I think they are VERY enjoyable, but the downside is, you really can’t hold them, because they don’t like that. For the first week or so, they are kind of boring. But, after that, they are entertaining. Check the care sheet out!

I got my little 5-lined from a pet store that had her labeled as a rainbow skink, though she obviously had a bright blue tail. She is a very fun pet to watch but has always been very skittish. That is partially the pet stores fault because they didn’t treat her right. (They said she came from Africa) Other than that she is a great pet and it is fun to watch her when she is out and active. As long as you are ok with the fact that they will spend a pretty big chunk of time underground, they make great pets.
