do you have any recipies to make my house smell good. something i could make at home on the stove? or in the oven. but not edible. just a scent. then once i make it…where do i put it?

it depends on if you are trying to cover up an odor. If you are, maybe something like smoke? you can place out bowls of vinegar and it will “soak up” the scent. If you just want the place to smell good, try the old standby, pour up a pan of water and add all the good smelling spices like cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin pie spice, allspice, those kinds of things and keep heating on high…to a rapid boil. Allow it to boil as long as you like, BUT keep adding water when it gets low. (you can also put it on low for awhile, instead of a rapid boil, that way you don’t have to keep checking the water) Make sure you watch it closely. Then…when you need to leave the house, turn the heat off and the pan will still emit the scents for a few hours afterwards.
You can also get essential oils and dab the oil on cotton balls and place them behind picture frames on your entertainment center…all hidden places. Do not put the oil side down on any furniture or against walls. Its best to put them on a small plate if possible,
One cool thing you can do when cleaning your bathroom, you can actually clean your mirror with spray air freshener…it cleans the mirror and leaves behind a great scent too.

Boil a little water on the stove with some Cinnamon in it. That always makes it nice and homey.

Do you have a crockpot? You could take spices that are old, put them in water, and let them simmer all day in the crockpot. That gets rid of old spices that may have lost most of their flavor (you can check this at http://www.spicecheckchallenge.com), and makes your place smell good.
You can also mix an entire bottle of cinnamon with half a cup of applesauce to make a scented ornament. (In theory, it’s edible, but I wouldn’t advise it.) The cinnamon keeps it from decaying and also smells nice.
