The salaries and profits are through the roof. Entertainers are worshipped and treated like gods. Is it eating up too much of our incomes? Is it all really worth it? Are we getting our money’s worth? I’m talking singers, professional athletes, actors, etc. It’s nice as a minor diversion but does it have to be so all consuming as we are being driven to believe? How many awards shows do they need to tell us how great they are? Now they are telling us what is wrong with the world and that we should all spend our money (not theirs) to fix it. I’m not against this stuff but is it all become too all consuming in our lives?
Supply and Demand is a good thought but doesn’t it lead to the chicken or the egg question – which came first? Supply meet demand or Demand meet supply? If the only choice was hamburger will most people choose hamburger. Some good thoughtful answers so far.
I loved Mizhani’s comment about athlete’s picketing for more money – I remembered one NFL walkout and seeing at their training camp guys covered in gold jewelry leaning against Porches and Ferraris demanding more money. I haven’t been to an NFL game since.
