My guess is the issue of free trade and exporting jobs. The cost of labor in Asia is so much lower than in the USA, its stupid to manufacture things here. When the factory workers get laid off there is less money for them to spend in the stores, so other people get laid off because of a bad economy. The companies that sell imported goods buy advertising in the news, so perhaps the sponsors have pressured the news to keep quiet.
What should I do about getting a degree in fine arts?

I’m a sophmore in college as a fine arts major. I’m not sure what type of art I like the best so I’ve been taking classes in all different types of art. For example, I’ve taken drawing, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design, fashion design etc… I’m good at all of them but not really great in one area of art.
Do you think I’m doing the right thing in learning all types of art? Or should I be focusing on 1 or 2 types and try to become an expert at those?
How does one become more knowledgeable about politics?

I am not stupid, I did well in high school, but I was always wrapped up in my own life. My father’s illness, personal problems, I never understood completely what was going on around me.
I am not completely ignorant, I know basic information. But I feel so stupid. I lack any knowledge about politics and the economy. And when questions or conversations arise, I don’t know what to say. I often say “vague” lines to show that I understand what is happening.
Why are food companies so hesitant and worried about adding dietary information to their products?

Sure, some might be afraid that if they do reveal how unhealthy their food actually is, customers might be unwilling to buy their products.
But cigarette companies have been forced for years to disclose to customers how bad their products are, and they aren’t short of a penny.
What they lose in customers, they would make up in goodwill.
What do you think? I myself think that companies shouldn’t be forced to reveal exactly what is in their products. If customers want to eat rubbish, let them.

Most people automatically assume I’m against owning guns as a liberal. Couldn’t be further from the truth.
I am concerned about my uncles’ health who was exposed to asbestos. What makes asbestos so dangerous?

What is good about a man being the head of the family?

I am confused: Why would God say men and women are equal, then say “okay, the man’s the leader of the family”? I am a woman, and a natural leader and would feel comfortable as the head of the family. Could someone please help me out? What about men makes them a better fit?
What happens if you lie about having pets when you live in a rental community?

I have 2 cats that I love dearly. The rental community I am applying to charges a $600 non-refundable pet deposit and then $50 per cat per month. Will they find out I have cats if I sneak them in and not say anything? If they found out how would they find out? Has anyone had this happen to them before?

i’ve never owned a pet but have been alone before….do not like that feeling at all. Thinking a pet might help me feel less lonely but not sure what kind of pet to get………What is it about owning a pet that makes you feel less lonely? Is it being able to cuddle or play with the pet; also, what kind of pet do you have and why did you get that pet?
Question about when to take a home pregnancy test when taking Provera and Clomid?

I took Provera on the 1st of June for seven days and started Clomid on the 3rd day of my bleeding, which was on the 11th, for 5 days, and I ovulated on the 21st of June. We had intercourse the week before I ovulated and a couple of days after ovulation. My question is, when should I do a home pregnancy test?
