How often does your family get together?

My husbands family gets together much more than mine. He does have a big family, so maybe that’s the difference. My mom, dad & brother and I only get together on holidays for the most part. Once in a while I’ll go there to borrow somethiing. We never go do anything together. My husbands mom & dad, brothers & sisters, nephews, nieces all go places together every weekend. Which one is the norm here? How about your family?

The idea that our society claims to value the family, but doesn’t institute many family-friendly policies. Do you agree that this is true? If so, what would you suggest in terms of policies that could improve the situation. Why aren’t these policies being implemented?
