How can I convince my parents to let me play mature rated games?

I’m fourteen and my parents won’t let me get rated mature games. This frustrates me as all the good ones are mature and all my friends play them, and I’m not exaggerating all. And things about filters frustrate me as they kind of make the games stupid, they don’t trust me anyways.

What are the speech bubbles and megaphones on xbox live during the games loading?

I recently played Halo: Reach with my friend on his xbox. When the game was loading, and users were being divided into teams, i noticed a speech bubble and a megaphone image. To my understanding, the megaphone means they have a mic plugged in that works. What does the speech bubble mean? Does this mean you have a chatpad? Can you IM in games?
