What are the benefits of being an education major?

I am currently a Japanese and English double major, in hopes of teaching either or both subjects at the high school level. Should I also get an education degree or do a certification program after I have my bachelor’s degree? My school (University of Maryland) has a five-year program in which one also gets a master’s degree in education, but it requires an internship at an elementary school, and I have absolutely no interest at teaching elementary school students. Thanks!
If I wanted to be a radiation therapist could I major in a field such as biomedical science?

I really want to help cancer patients, so radiation therapy is a very good career for me. I am frustrated when it comes to choosing colleges however. Texas State has a radiation therapist program but I really love Texas A&M. All TAMU offers is biomedical science. Could I major in biomedical science and still be a radiation therapist? Or are there better things to do with a biomedical science major?
How many of you think the fix is on in major sports?

With all of the money the owners, players, and GM’s make, plus merchandising and all the money riding on these games in Vegas I have to believe some if not a lot of pro games are fixed. I deffinitely think players are bought, points are shaved and some games and maybe even championships are decided before they begin. I will always love, play and watch sports, but I’m not naieve enough to believe it isn’t fixed.
I think I’m interested in Social Science…. what can I do with this, if I major in this?

Can I teach high school with a double major in sociology and education?

I would love to become a high school teacher and my favorite subjects in school are sociology, women’s studies, cultural diversity, and other classes of this nature. Would I be able to teach high school with a degree in sociology (and education, of course)? Perhaps I would be able to teach a global studies class?
Should I change my major to theater arts?

I’ve always been fascinated with movies and acting and was constantly reacting scenes from movies when I was little. I’m currently a junior in college and am majoring in sociology, but lately I have been wodering if I should switch to theater. However, I’ve never had any kind of theater experience so I’m not sure if I should. I just feel like I would enjoy acting and such more than studying sociology. Any advice would be appreciated.

What would be the best major for someone interested in Education Reform?

I don’t want to be a teacher, or even an assistant principal. I’d like to find a place in state or national government (yes I know I would have to work up to it) to carry out education reform. Any suggestions?
If I major in Social Science can I still get a job in Social work, want to to work in adoption?

I just set my major as Social Science at the community college I am going to in January, I want to work in adoption and they don’t offer social work. I would only be able to get an associates agree and have to transfer to a university anyway. But now I’m finding out that Social Science and Social Work aren’t even close. So far though I haven’t scheduled any classes that are specifically for my major, they were just basic classes, any advise…
