What home-made fertilizer will most house plants benefit from?

I have a coleus plant, a cactus, ficus, bamboo, and some others which I don’t know the name of… and I would like them to grow better. I remember reading somewhere that just by putting skins of vegetables/fruits in certain plants’ soil serves as a good fertilizer, though I’m not sure if that’s true and what’s the best way to do it. If any of you know any good tips for easy to implement home made fertilizers, please share.
home owner rights when neighbor plants a large tree blocking view?

my home was built a number of years before my neighbor built their home. now they have planted a ash tree that will block my view of the valley. I live on a mountain bench above the city. we have an excellent view of the valley and sunsets. their house sits directly behind and lower than ours which took out some of our view. now they are planting trees to give them privacy from our rear decks. what can we do?
Are there any home spray remedies for home plants to keep bugs away?

I am slowly starting to have more and more houseplants, but am starting to worry that they might get bugs, or plant lice in the future. Do you know of any sprays that I can make at home to keep the bugs away.
For instance would spraying them with water and vinegar help?or would that be bad for the plant? if i ad soap and water, or vinegar and water, what would be the ratio?
