What are they referring to when the news says “cable” in reference to leaks that Wikileaks is publishing?

I keep hearing in the news the word “cable” when referring to the current Wikileaks revelations. I’ve heard “classified cable” ,”says the cable recounting…” “Dept of State cable.” Do they mean a document? a submarine cable where they spliced the info from?

Is America not as corrupt as third world country because of moral superiority or because they are affluent society and their government provides them some form of welfare. If this economic crisis leads to vast amount of unemployment and social inequality will they turn to corruption just like third world countries or are they above such gross misconducts ?

You say take the 10 commandment and all traces of God out of school but have you noticed that is when the decline of our society started. More pregnancy out of wedlock, more everything!
When I grew up we were not so scared of playing on the street in Los Angeles. NOW this godless generation is so scary that even unbelievers are scared for their children.
The decline of society started with the ousting of GOD from as many places as possible.

So I know this seems like an odd question, but it has been pressing on me. My mother and father were not married when I was born, but my mother has since remarried for over 10 years now, and I really consider my step dad my dad. And I have now been officially adopted by him.

Why do adults distance themselves from family members and friends once they start their own family?

I notice this about people once they become adults, get married, and have kids. The phone calls stop. The times of going out on a Friday night and having drinks with buddies comes to an end. The only time you really see them is around the holidays. Its depressing actually to say the least. Why do adults distance themselves from chiildhood friends and their family members once they start to have families of their own?
