If you mix iodine with ammonia it produces a loud pop, and big puff of smoke.
I don’t remember all the chemistry formulas,, put find those. explain them, then wake up the class with the theory in action.

1). Passing electricity through purified water breaks the molecular bonds in the water. This creates a gas known as HHO (H2O, only not bonded) this gas can be collected in a balloon. When lit, the balloon will create a substantial fireball. This is the same mixture of gasses used in the space shuttle’s fuel. It burns in the vacuum of space because there is oxygen present in the fuel.
2). A fluorescent or neon tube can be illuminated by the energy given off by plasma. Those electric balls with the lightning inside are excellent sources of plasma. Depending on your time and resources, you may consider a Tesla Coil. Large ones can generate millions of volts and illuminate tubes several feet away.
3) Do a Google search for Hot Ice or sodium acetate. It can be made from acetic acid (found in vinegar) and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). With careful preparation, it can be made to “freeze” into an ice-like substance upon contact with baking soda, or even your finger.

Cover a dish with a clean cloth.
Pour ammonia into the dish and cover the cloth.
Slowly put single drops of iodine into the ammonia and it will thicken and fall to the bottom.
Very slowly lift the cloth and let it strain the precipitates.
Allow it to dry.
From this point on, never touch it again if you value your life!
It will explode with tremendous force when subjected to more than 15 psi!!
If you apply it, while wet, to the pins of a doors hinges, it will blow the door off its hinges and probably kill the person trying to open it!.
Tell your teacher to give you the 1,000 points … or else!
