have lots of money. do not overbuild(more than you can afford). 15 year loan where payments are NO MORE than 25%of your bring home pay per month. be conservative. no way to win when you “splurge”.

get what you want now. adding it later cost more and is never right. (hottubs, fireplaces, larger rooms etc.)

We will begin building in Aug, but I do know to make sure you have EVERYONE scheduled in, because if not you will be in trouble. ie..Plumbers in immediately after the foundation guys, electricians in close behind for roughing, then framers and the trusses all right behind each other…phew! Good Luck !

Don’t leave shovels or rakes with the tip of it up (not the handle). If you are carelessly walking around and happen to step on it, it will spring up and hit you.

Make sure you get your maximum land. It was a hassle for me to get my most land. The cheapskates tried to take my land from me. Another thing is try to make the builders build your fence so your side windows are fenced in. And at last, before your home is complete, make sure you get any add-ons to your house, like phone plugs and the like. It’s easier for people to build it while that house is still under construction. And some people will do it for cheap, too.
