Where can I find black food coloring?
I checked my local grocery stores but no luck, I need it by tommorow morning, so I can’t buy it online. or does any one know how to make the color black out of food coloring?

Did a search on this. Found lots of people asking the same questions. Also found many respondents who had tried to make black food coloring, but found none with a solution that was truly satisfactory. I’d suggest giving up this idea and, instead, go to the store and look for black candies. Liquorice comes to mind instantly, but there may well be others that are colored black. Perhaps you could do some decorations with those.

Mix all your colours together, focussing mostly on blue. Some specialty bakerys or cooking stores will also make it for you. Good luck and have fun!

Try using squid ink. You can get fresh squid from the fishmonger and remove the ink sacs for it. It doesn’t have much taste apart from being just slightly salty.

Michael’s Arts and Crafts carries black food coloring in gel form so the color stays rich and not water-y grey. I have purchased it there in the last 3 months. Hope that helps!

The WalMart by me has a Wilton section in the Craft Department. I got black food coloring there, in a 12 pack of different colors.

I’M NOT SURE OF HOW MANY DROPS OF FOOD COLORING YOU SHOULD USE BUT, IF YOU COMBINE THE COLORS:RED, GREEN, AND BLUE TOGETHER,YOU SHOULD GET BLACK.

Try caramel coloring. It’s what bakers use to get pumpernickel bread that wonderful black color.

I’ve been around the block a few times, but never ever have heard of black food coloring. What do you want to use that on? There is black paint, black magic markers, black shoe polish, black fabric material, black nail polish, maybe even black rit dye for dyeing clothes, could be maybe black lipstick (don’t know for sure)……

Michael’s craft stores may have them, or anyone who carries Wilton supplies (online works, too).
