Why do china and other third world countries get a free pass on the environment & no one cares ?

They are the largest polluters but America the UK evin Russia and Africa. Are held to higher standards but must compet in the global market place.

I,m sure most people in China care about pollution but are too afraid to protest because their law enforcement can use harsh interrogation methods like using pliers on a suspects fingers.
Most countries in Africa are third world because of government corruption.

First of all, it all depend on the goverment and their goverment doesn’t care about global warming just as our goverment is making excuses.

I think that Kyoto was flawed because it did not treat all parties equally. I believe that any viable agreement must be equal and fair for all. Note though that I understand that given that this is a new penalty system it would tend to hold back developing economies, but if viewed in a different light it is an opportunity to start with a relatively clean slate and to do it right the first time rather than allowing environmental damage in the hope of cleaning it all up later…

Because environmental groups can’t bully them.

You think the IRS goes after crack cocaine dealers that don’t pay income tax on their profits? H*** no! The would fight back.

So you think any environmental group is going to take on China? They would a. have to learn the language (difficult to impossible), b. believe they could influence a communist dictatorship, and c. figure out some way to pressure them.

A bully only picks on weaklings. China is one big humguous gorilla that NO ONE is going to boss around.

B/c we keep buying junk from China. It’s mainly our fault. If we used less and made less plastics and other junk, then we would not need to exploit these other poorer countries. We need a new economic system b/c capitalism is going to kill us all.

They are sovereign nation and that is their right whether you like it or not.
